Bringing together African and U.S. scientists

Microbial fuel cell experiment

Microbial Fuel Cells harness electricity from bacterial respiration. The experiment can be used to introduce students to current and electricity, fuel cells, internal resistance, respiration, and more. If you're curious about Microbial Fuel Cell basics and applications, check out this link.

Thermoelectric generator experiment

Thermoelectric Generators can convert energy from heat into electrical energy. This experiment kit is designed to introduce students to the fundamental principles that lead to the generation of electrical energy and perform hands-on experiments using the thermoelectric module to light an LED and as a Peltier cooler.
